Susana Spears new site officially open.

It look longer than expected, but Susana Spears next foray into cyberspace has finally opened it doors to the public. http://www.spearsfever.com officially opened just 24 hours ago and already it is making a mark with Susana fans the world over. Earlier in the day I had the chance to speak with the lovely Miss Spears on the phone. Here is an excerpt from that interview:

J: Well congratulations on http://www.spearsfever.com – the site looks incredible, and not really at all what I expected.

Susana Spears: Thank you! I can’t tell how happy I am to have it finally done – but now even after all that the real work begins for me.

J: It took quite a bit longer than you had anticipated to launch – is there a story there?

Susana Spears: Well what I can tell you about this is that it always takes longer than you think it will. What happened with this for me is that just in the last few weeks really a lot of new ideas came up for the contents and what I wanted to do with the site. I think that if I had not this extra time, then the site would have been something very different – less of what I wanted and more like everything else.

J: I know from our previous conversations that being original with this project was a real priority for you – how important is it for you to be doing something different with http://www.spearsfever.com?

Susana Spears: It is everything to me. Look – you know that there are just millions of sites out there with naked girls everywhere. Sites like MET and Femjoy are doing sometimes 7 updates a day. 7!!! What I understand from this is that you can’t compete like this on updates. These sites have all the girls in the world, but if you look at the sets and pictures from there they are all the same. Its really true – you can take some sets from one site and put them on some other site and no one would notice or tell the difference. I started to think that it’s not about competition with this site or that site but with the whole genre – because its just millions of images all the same. The sites by themselves don’t matter anymore.

J: I have noticed that. I also noticed that I can’t name very many of those models on those sites – or remeber even what they look like so much.

Susana Spears: They are beautiful girls – many thousands of them, but always posed the same way, with the same expressions, even in the same locations. I just don’t think it is enough anymore to have naked girl in beautiful location – there has to be something to catch imagination and it needs to cause some feelings in the person who looks. Since I am for the first time making my own sets on http://www.spearsfever.com and not working for someone else, I am really trying to make every image stand out and catch the attentions of people – to create something that is absolute different and original is the only way to stand out in all this clutter of other images.

J: There seems to be a bit of a comedic playfulness in some of your sets – Grandma Spears is a great example of this, how important is humor in the creative process?

Susana Spears: The idea to make people laugh and to turn them on at the same time was one of the new ideas that came from having some more times to think. I want to make something that can be funny and erotic. I think that the two feelings are both pleasure for people and mixing them together creates something very enjoyable – at least for me.

J: Well we are out of time for this interview. Just before we say goodbye I wanted to ask about http://www.susanaspearslive.com. Will it stay online?

Susana Spears: http://www.susanaspearslive.com will continue to be updated of course. It is still a huge collection of my early pictures from very many different photographers, and I think it is still one of the largest collections of videos of me. The style of the contents in more candid. One thing that we did do with this site is make it very cheap for people to join – 1 year costs just $49.95 – so that fans can still get the updates from spearslive and also belong to the new site http://www.spearsfever.com.

Susana on being exclusive…

There comes a time in every models career when they reach a point where they want to start taking more direct control of their image. For Susana Spears this time has come. After 7 years of running the gauntlet of the top websites on the net and working with some of the top photographers in the industry, Miss Spears has decided to stop the model rat race and go into business for herself. The journey has been a long one with many lessons learned. “You just reach some point where it seems like you are just doing the same things over and over again” Spears said in the latest of our candid phone interviews. “It was time for me to try to be something new. I wanted some new challenge for myself, and I was already learning more about sites and how they work by being closely involved in the workings of my first site http://www.susanaspearslive.com”. You would think that having been featured on so many of the top websites on the net that Susana and her model friends would be net savvy, but this was not the case as she explained to me. “I really did not know too much about the internet at first. Of course I was sending emails and surfing like everyone else, but I knew very little about how sites worked, how to set them up and the promotion and things like that. I know many girls who don’t think about anything other than how their make ups look and what pose they should do. For new girls this is ok, but if you ever want to make something more from this then you should start to learn everything you can. Ask questions”. Susana says that the best place to learn is often by talking with photographers and agents after shoots. Male photographers are usually quite happy to chat – especially to models who genuinely appear interested in what they are doing. “You can learn a lot with just a few questions” she adds. Susana eventually made the choice to shoot exclusively for her own sites late in 2007. The decision was made largely based on changes that are taking place inside the industry, and also out of her personal preference to be in control of her own career. “When I first started, things were much better for the models then they are now. There was more shootings, and girls were being paid much better than they are today. It’s really not so good now – and for most girls it can be better just to have a regular job. The economic situation has really been getting better here (in Praha) so many shootings are moving away to places where the girls are much more poor.” The idea that she was on the bottom of the money chain also started to irk Susana. “When you get to know this business and you see how the money works, you know that the site owners are making money from you and your name. Everyone wants to make some profits, but the girls in the end are the ones that are selling everything with their look and body and they always get the smallest amount by far. I think people in general would be shocked how little girls are getting paid. After so many years of making money for everyone else, I think if you are smart you start to find some chance for yourself – some opportunity. ” Money aside, Susana cited more personal reasons for reclaiming her image. “You are always saying something with these images, even if there are no words. It is always someone else you are speaking for, or the worst is when they are trying to make you act or look or be something that you are really not at all. This is ok because being a model is being an actress mostly, but after some time I really wanted to start using my ideas, my voice, my talents and I guess that mostly it bugged me to keep pretending to be just Susana Spears. This model Susana Spears will now be who I want her to be, and this lets me be creative for really the first time in 7 years since I started. It is like something completely new for me and you can see it very clearly in my new pictures for http://www.spearsfever.com.”

Susana Spears Club?

I’m  probably not the only one who was surprised when I read Susana refer to a site called http://www.susanaspearsclub.com in her interview promoting her new site http://www.spearsfever.com – like many people I was left wondering what the hell is http://www.susanaspearsclub.com? I dialed up Susana and got some clarification on just what she has up her sleeve.  This is an excerpt from the transcript of my phone interview with the lovely miss Spears.

“Susanaspearsclub.com is a site that I am making at the same time as spearsfever.com – it is really the next step for me as a place to put all my contents not just of me but of my friends from this business. You will see there Nella and Anetta and Zoe and all the top girls plus the new pictures I have made. Susanaspearsclub.com is about more the top euro models – the ones that I am friends with and I have known from shootings and working together.”

When I pressed her on the difference between http://www.susanaspearsclub.com and http://www.spearsfever.com this is what she had to say. “In Spearsfever.com I am making the site more like a channel or magazine. I am trying a lot of different contents – and it is also really about the art behind the erotic contents. It is also for me the first time about me shooting other girls  in an erotic way and making them to look beautiful and sexy. These girls are completely new and not anywhere else….Susanaspearsclub.com is more about the top girls that everyone already knows and loves – plus it is the place I put my photos where I am playing and just having fun.”

When I asked when she was planning on launching she said…”I am making both sites at the same time. This has been hard – but I am planning on opening up both just in a few weeks of each other…there will always be some previews on each site from what the other site has so no matter what you will always know then what is happening!”

Susana Spears Interview….

Susana gave me permission to repost a recent interview from her current site http://www.susanaspearslive.com – this interview was posted in the members area forum, and it gives you a pretty good handle on Susana’s thoughts on modeling and certain aspects of the erotic industry. It is quite a thoughtful interview and I am sure if you are a fan of Susana’s you will enjoy reading it. Her answers are in red:

1- May you Introduce your self to our readers and future fans in Puerto Rico.
Hello everyone in Puerto Rico. My name is Susana and I am a model, stylist and photographer.

2-How would you can describe your model nude style art?
In the past I have just been a model – so I would be paid to model for other people’s ideas and visions of what they wanted. Most of the time it was not something I would choose to do if I was the one in the creative control – but this is what a model does – she models. Now I have been working on some new sites that will open in the January of 2008. www.spearsfever.com is the one that I am most proud about because for the first time I will be in complete control and in charge of everything. All the ideas for each photo are my ideas and I am doing what I want. It will be for me really the first time I am expressing myself creatively since I started as a model almost 8 years ago. It is also the first time when I have been the photographer – and I have been shooting some new models from Prague that no one has ever seen before. These girls are not regular erotic models – they are completely new models who only pose for artistic nudes. I am also the makeup artist and stylist on each shooting. I am very proud about this. It has taken a lot of effort to make the site ready, and has taken longer than I expected, but it will be ready in January 2008.

3-What things a woman need for be a nude model like you?
You just need to decide that this job is for you – because it is not always easy and there are a lot of bullshits to deal with. You also have to know what your limits are on what jobs you will take and not change that for anything. It is much harder now I think because the pay is not so nice like before when I first started, and there are many many girls who think that they can make some easy money. It is a job like any other job and you must be professional at it.

4-What kind of inspiration you have?

Creating something that has something original about it – there is just so much naked girls out there and so much ugly porn that there is no point in this unless you can show some beauty or something in someway new. I don’t mean new poses really – but some feeling or story or something real from the inside. I think it is much more better to tease people – to get them to imagine something and have some feelings from a picture. I read that the brain is the largest sex organ in the body and I agree with this total.

5-What is the diferences between artistic nude, erotic nude and porn photography for you.
[color=#990000]When people are talking about this they are usually trying to make some judgements about it. I persoanlly don’t really like porn – it is all same, it is aggressive usually to the woman – it has nothing to do with real sex. I enjoy something erotic when I can tell the woman is actually really turned on and is having some pleasure. This is very rare in any porn or erotic pictures I see. I like to see kissing – and that is usually enough for me. I have never done porn – because to me that is when people have sex for money and someone is there to take some contents and pictures from this. It is always the persons own choice about what they do – but for me this choice was never the right one so I never did it. [/color]

6-Could you please tell me more about your work in a nude photoshoting. How long does it take to create a photo shooting for your gallery web.
It is always different in time. From 10 minutes to 4 hours depending mostly on the light and location. For spearsfever.com which will open soon, I shot mostly at night and it took much more time to do the shootings because we were working with lightings that always had to change. Also I am learning photo shop now and it takes time to fix things like colours.

7-What dou you think about Porno actress and models?I think I answered this already in the above. It is a personal choice what people do.

8-How you see a nude photographic modeling for the next generations?
It is changing. Photographers are going to new places to look for models. They always try and go to the poorest places to get girls who really need money to live. The economic situation is better now in some parts of Eastern Europe so they are going to other places. People never really think about this – it is not by some chance that most models are from certain countries – the web companies are always trying to take some advantage of the poorest places where young girls are much more desperate.

Susana Spears talks content…

Susana wanted me to pass on some information about the content that she is working on for her new site http://www.spearsfever.com that is launching later this month.

All the material will be exclusive to the site – and Susana has taken an active role in every aspect and detail of the content creation process. “This is the first time that I have been the one completely in charge of everything. Most of the time when you are working for someone else you are just there as the model and you have no controls about what the picture will look like. The photographer has his idea and you are there without any creativity – I was tired about this. I just felt like it was time for me to show more about what I can do.”

Susana feels that her members on http://www.spearsfever.com will get a closer feel for who she is through these images, which she feels are more personal then her other work. “It is completely different feeling when it is your idea” Susana explains. “You put yourself out there more, you really care about the finished picture – it’s not like working for someone else and everything is the same like every other photographer. You don’t know how many times I have shot the same sets for all these different sites. On my site I am trying to bring something new and unique to every frame. These contents are what I find beautiful erotic and sexy.”
